A new blog written by Ecocleen Thames Valley Regional Director, Michael Currie, discussing our environmental legacy.
A legacy is a part of a person that lives on long after that person has passed. A legacy also leaves behind the story of a person, so they are not forgotten. Legacies are important pathways for the future to follow or to be guided by in order make better decisions in life.
At Ecocleen being environmentally minded has always been at the heart of what we do, and we are mindful of the legacy we plan on leaving behind us.
The advances in the cleaning industry have moved far beyond harmful cleaning solutions and antiquated mopping systems that do more harm than good.
The philosophy at Ecocleen is that “Going Green” is not just a service, but rather a journey that businesses are taking in an ever-changing modern world. It means more than just protecting the planet; it stretches to protecting staff and clients as well.
Ecocleen was established over 20-years ago and during this time we helped customers maintain a clean, hygienic and fresh environments while keeping to our Green ethos. Our goal is to create clean, safe environments by utilising market leading equipment and eco-friendly supplies to deliver a safe and secure service almost anywhere.
Thorough and effective cleaning is undertaken without the use of harsh chemicals which ensures there are no safety issues, no toxins and no strong smells.
Take a look at these 3 benefits to our Green approach:
1. Better for the environment
One of the advantages of the cleaning products like those used by Ecocleen is they are better for the environment compared to standard cleaning chemicals.
Unfortunately, many chemicals from harsher cleaning products eventually end up in our waterways and soil, which damages our eco-system and upsets the natural balance. Environmentally friendly cleaning products which make use of renewable raw materials are biodegradable and have far less of an impact on the environment not just in its use but also in its manufacturing as well as using recycled or recyclable materials for their containers.
2. Better for the people
One of the largest problems of most cleaning products is the array of harmful chemicals they contain, such as ammonia, phthalates, chlorine, nonoxynols and more.
Once used these chemicals generally leave a residue on surfaces and fumes in the air long after they have been used. Whilst the ingredients of these cleaning products have been deemed safe, there is a possibility of long-term risks to the health and safety of those using them as well as those occupying areas where these chemicals have been used.
Comparing this with eco-friendly products the benefits are obvious. Eco-friendly cleaning products contain natural ingredients such as lactic acid, citric acid and enzymes which are much less harsh and over-powering.
3. Better for your building
As well as the environmental and health benefits, there are also long-term advantages to using eco-friendly cleaning products.
With natural alternatives to abrasive, chemical cleaning agents, you can avoid significant wear and tear to your property and potentially enjoy longer periods of time before having to replace surfaces and units. By using an environmentally friendly cleaning solution you can ensure that all areas of your building are cleaned efficiently and effectively Pairing this with the correct cleaning schedule can reduce sick building syndrome, which will assist in reducing sickness which in turn assists with absenteeism.
